Introduction to Economics is a new unit within the syllabus updated in 2020 for examination from 2022 onwards. Recommended teaching time is 10 hours, for both standard level (SL) economics and higher level (HL) economics. Being the smallest of the units in the IB curriculum, the unit provides a general overview to economics as a social science and encourages students to think like economists.
